Beli buku 15 : Diary of a Wimpy Kid "The Last Straw" [SOLD]

You know how you're supposed to come up
with a list of "resolutions" at the beginning
of the year to try to make yourself
a better person? Well, the problem is,
it's not easy for me to think of ways to improve myself,
because I'm pretty much one of the best people that I know/

But Greg's dad has other ideas.
He wants Greg to change his wimpy ways,
toughen up and enlist in other "manly" endeavours.
And when he threatens to send Greg to military academy,
Greg realizes he has to shape up...
or get shipped out.

Beli buku 14: Diary of a Wimpy Kid "Rodrick Rules" [SOLD]

Remember how I said that if some jerk caught me
carrying a book with "diary" on the cover,
they were gonna get the wrong idea?
Well, that's exactly what happened today.

Now that Rodrick knows that I have another journal,
I'd better remember to keep this one locked up.
Rodrick actually got hold of my last journal...
But don't even get me started on THAT story.
Even without my Rodrick problems,
my summer was pretty lousy.

Beli buku 13 : Diary of a Wimpy Kid [SOLD]

Let me get something straight: this is a JOURNAL, not a diary.
This was Mom's idea, not mine.
But if she thinks I'm going to write down my "feelings"
in here or whatever, she's crazy.

The only reason I agreed to do this at all is
because I figure later on when I'm rich and famous,
this book is gonna come in handy.

But for now I'm stuck in middle school
with a bunch of morons.

Just don't expect me to all "Dear Diary"
this and "Dear Diary" that.

I love the book!

I gobbled on the book P.S. I Love You this morning
It left me feeling blue and yet excited.

I bought the book long ago and did not have the chance to properly read it.
I even thought that the book was no good and I wondered why people were
making such abig fuss out of it.
And since I decided to sell it here,
I must re-read it.

And the book turned out to be awesome!
It had been quite some time since I last fell in love with an English novel.
The last time was last year when I was reading The Kite Runner.

Genres like 'the shopaholic' don't really appeal to me - coz the first shopaholic book that I read (shopaholic abroad) was really awful. I despise it after reading a few pages; let alone to finish it.
Later only that I knew from a friend that that particular book is the worst among all the series.
What say you? ;)

Ok, back to P.S. I Love You.
I love love it. I love every single sentence in the book.
And I decided not to sell it.
It is my current favourite book :)

It makes me appreciate my hubby and my marriage more than ever.
The book is not just about the bond between husband and wife but also between mother and daughter, brother and sister, between best friends, between employer and employee

A perfect book I must say,
at least until I find something better :D

If you haven't read it, you must must must grab a hold of it and read it at leisure.
Peace (^^)V

Beli buku 12 : Gardens of Delight by Idris Tawfiq

In a simple and uncomplicated way, Idris Tawfiq's most popular book, Gardens of Delight: a simple introduction to Islam, explains the main features of Islam and what it means to be Muslim.

Using the five pillars of Islam as a framework, it relates the beliefs of Islam to everyday life. Muslims believe that Islam has existed since the beginning of Time and that Islam is the natural religion of mankind.

In an age when so many distractions clamour for our attention, the book tries to show how Muslims believe that Islam answer's man's basic need for happiness and fulfillment in life.

One Western diplomat remarked to Idris that "everyone is telling us at the present time what Islam is not. They say Islam is not aggressive, it is not violent and it is not extreme. But for the first time, you are telling us in this book what Islam is, describing it as both beautiful and sweet."

Appealing to both Muslim and non-Muslim, Gardens of Delight: a simple introduction to Islam presents Islam in a very straightforward and simple way, using people and places to make the narrative come alive.

Beli buku 8 : Talking to Young Muslims by Idris Tawfiq [SOLD]

British Muslim Writer, Idris Tawfiq, talks to young Muslims about Life and its challenges and about how to live as muslims in a world with so many distractions. Drawing upon his experience of teaching and working with young people all over the world, he addresses many of the problems which Muslim young people face.

An extract from the book :
In life, all people crave happiness and fulfilment. Some people will go to great lengths to achieve it. The great message of Islam is that true happiness can only be found in Allah. When we see football hooligans on television or read the alarmingly high levels of suicide or alcoholism or drug addiction in many countries of the western, "developed" world, we see the results of people craving happiness where it cannot be found. Temporary "highs" will not answer the deepest needs of our hearts.

Nice, isn't it?

Beli buku 1 : Muhammad by Karen Armstrong [BOOKED]

No view of the modern world is complete without an understanding of Islam. To understand Islam, we must understand Muhammad - as a prophet and a man. More is known about Muhammad's life than the founder of any other major faith, yet his story is frequently misunderstood, even deliberately distorted. Now Karen Armstrong, author of the bestselling A History of God, has written a concise, balanced and illuminating portrait of this revered figure. Through comparison with other prophets and mystics she examines Muhammad's spriitual ideas, and uses the facts of his life - from which Muslims have drawn instruction for centuries - to make the tennets of Islam clear and accessible for readers of all faiths.
